What is the Rise School?

The Rise School of San Antonio is a 501c3 that will provide the highest quality of early  educational services to children ages six months to six years. At Rise, about 50% of children  have disabilities and the other 50% are traditional learners, or children without disabilities. The  inclusion of children of differing abilities at Rise is known as an “integrated environment,” and it  is absolutely core to the school’s mission. The short and long-term benefits of an integrated  environment are equally great for children with and without disabilities.

How is Rise different from other programs?

Rise will be the only preschool in San Antonio that delivers intensive education, intervention and therapy during the entire formative infant, toddler and preschool years in a school-wide integrated environment.

The need for The Rise School is great as few community resources address the needs of families and children with developmental delays from ages six months to six years in our community. Federally mandated public preschool for special needs children does not begin until 3 years old, and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) offers limited therapy for children with developmental disabilities until the age of 3 years old.

When will Rise open?

August 28th, 2024. We will open with classrooms for children ages 12-36 months as of August and will add additional classes each year to serve the full range, 1-6 years old.

Where is Rise San Antonio located?

Rise is located at 414 N. San Saba Street, on the campus of Christus Children’s Hospital. The existing research building on the corner of San Saba and Martin Streets is being renovated.

Is Rise a part of Christus Children’s hospital?

Rise San Antonio is an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization. Through partnership with Christus, we are able to lower program costs for our families. Christus is providing us with low-cost occupancy and three of the four therapists who will work at the school.

What time is the school day?

The school day runs from 8:00am-2:30pm with after care available until 5:30pm.

Do you follow the regular school calendar year?

The Rise School is year-round except for July, in which we’re closed.

How much is tuition?

Tuition is $1250/month and may be paid monthly, semi-annually or on an annual basis. Tuition represents only 60% of the costs of the school; the remainder of needed funds will be raised through philanthropy.

Is financial aid available?

YES!  The Rise School of San Antonio is committed to doing everything it can to make the program affordable to families.  We estimate that more than 50% of our families will receive financial aid through fundraising efforts.
