What is the Rise School?

The Rise School of San Antonio is a 501c3 that will provide the highest quality of early  educational services to children ages six months to six years. At Rise, about 50% of children  have disabilities and the other 50% are traditional learners, or children without disabilities. Therapies are woven into the classroom and throughout the school day. The short and long-term benefits of an integrated  environment are equally great for children with and without disabilities.

Rise delivers intensive education, intervention and therapy during the entire formative infant, toddler and preschool years (1 to 6 years) in a school-wide integrated environment.  Few community resources address the needs of families and children with developmental delays from ages one to six years. Federally mandated public preschool for special needs children does not begin until 3 years old, and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) can offer some, but not all, needed therapy for children with developmental disabilities.

We currently have classrooms for students who will be ages 12-36 months by August 2025. For the 2025-2026 school year, we will add a Pre-K 4 classroom and a second one-year old classroom. We will ultimately serve children ages 1-6 years of age.

Rise is located at 414 N. San Saba Street, on the campus of Christus Children’s Hospital. The building entrance is on Martin Street, NOT San Saba. Parking is available directly in front of the building.

Rise San Antonio is an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization. Through partnership with Christus, we are able to lower program costs for our families. Christus is providing us with low-cost occupancy and three of the four therapists who will work at the school.

The school day runs from 8:00 am-2:30 pm with aftercare available until 5:30 pm. For the 2024-25 school year, all Rise families will be offered free aftercare. Early care is offered free of charge from 7:30-8:00.  After-care is from 2:30-5:30

The Rise School is year-round except for July, in which we’re closed.

Tuition is $1250/month and must be paid monthly over 12 months. Tuition represents only roughly half of the costs of the school; the remainder of the needed funds will be raised through philanthropy.

YES!  The Rise School of San Antonio is committed to doing everything it can to make the program affordable to families.  We estimate that more than 50% of our families will receive financial aid through fundraising efforts.
