A new statewide research study, Kindergarten Readiness Drives Third Grade Success, highlights the powerful connection between early learning and long-term academic outcomes for Texas children. Conducted by Michael Villarreal, PhD of CML Insight, the study found that children who entered kindergarten meeting developmental benchmarks in language and emergent literacy were significantly more likely to achieve third grade reading and math proficiency across every student group examined.
Preparing children to thrive in Kindergarten and beyond is the North Star for the Rise School. We are happy to see continued studies on the long-term importance of high-quality early childhood education.
